THE OROVILLE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969
The first Oroville High School on Bird Street - 1892.
The second Oroville High School at Robinson and Second Streets - 1904.
The third and current location at the corner of Orange and Bridge Streets. The main building at Oroville High School stood there from 1918 until it was torn down in early1966 - our Freshman year.
That same location in January 2009.
Yes, It's been a long time and since it has been so long I figured it was about time that somebody built a web site about our class.
I have added a few photos of the school and class and also provided a list of the graduates. I've listed information regarding our Reunions. Group photographs from all 7 of our Reunions are displayed here. I've even thrown in a bit of trivia about 1969. Should you be a member of the class, or know of a member of the class and have information regarding a class member to add to this website, please e-mail me at the address below.
Additionally, there is an IN MEMORIAM section in honor of those classmates who have passed away.
NOTICE!: Betty Shaner-Ledford advised me in May 2012 that there WILL be a 45th Reunion in 2014! This website will be updated as new information about the reunion comes in.
NEW! We have just added a link to all OHS Class of 69 Senior Portraits. It's located in the "List of Graduates" section just before the list of names. These are all of the Senior Portraits that were included in the OHS 69 NUGGET YEARBOOK.
I am so amazed at how much time has gone by so swiftly! This web site promises to be a continuing effort so keep checking back!

1. OHS CLASS OF 69's 40TH REUNION!
The 40th Reunion was a blast! At least I and many others thought so. It was on Oct. 17, 2009 at the Gold Country Casino. It was a joint reunion with OHS Class of 1970. There were 170 classmates with their guests and, between the good food, great friendships that were renewed, wonderful music and great enthusiasm of those attending I know it was my favorite reunion of all time. I got to meet classmates I had not seen in 40 years. My thanks to the Reunion Committee and all those who attended.
For additional OHS 69/70 Reunion photos that were taken by Scott Roberts that night you can access them at:
Should any class member have Reunion photos they feel would be a good addition to this web site, please let me know!
The "O" on Table Mountain - June 1969. The "O" was changed into a "69" by classmates Barry Duensing, Mike Scroggins and others.
2. REVISITING THE CAMPUS
The Boy's Gym in January 2009. One of the buildings that has only had minor changes in 40 years.
I had not visited the campus for probably 20 years but on the evening of October 8, 2008 fellow classmate Scott Roberts and I took a walk around. We noted that the "T" or Temporary Buildings, that turned out to be permanent for 40 years, have finally been replaced with a nice, new building. Also, the Block "O" Bench is still there. But the eastern part of it is almost covered by the hillside they installed for the new building. Also, the old tree inside the bench is now twice as big as it was 40 years ago. It was very nice to revisit the campus.

Scott and I revisited the campus again on July 25, 2012. Here are a few photos from that visit.

3. LIST OF GRADUATES
We graduated on June 6, 1969. The above photo is from that evening. A great memory from a long time ago.
